A man and woman in their 60s were taken to an area hospital Saturday afternoon after being shot in the city’s Garfield Park neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
The 65-year-old woman and the 67-year-old man were standing on the sidewalk in the 2800 block of West Polk Street around 4 p.m., when police said a vehicle approached and an armed man shot at both victims.
The woman was shot in the arm and the man was shot in the left leg. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition, police said. Authorities have not released a known reason for the attack.
While the police launched an investigation into the incident, no suspects were detained.
