A Glenview man has been charged with 12 counts of possession of child pornography after investigators allegedly found pornographic images and a video on his computer, authorities said.

Bruce Claver, 58, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane in Glenview, was taken into custody in the 1900 block of Glenview Road on March 6 following the results of a search warrant executed on Dec. 11, Glenview police said in a news release. They said Claver was charged the next day with 11 counts of possession of an image of child pornography of a victim under the age of 13 and one count of possession of a video of child pornography of a victim under the age of 13.

Glenview police conducted the investigation with assistance from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, the statement said.

It was stated that Claver was taken to the Skokie Courthouse for a detention hearing on March 8, where his previous pre-trial release conditions were revoked. Police did not say what the previous charges were. He is being held in the Cook County Jail pending trial.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Glenview Police Tip Line at 847-901-6055.
