Bulls vs. Jazz prediction

Chicago sits ninth in the Eastern Conference standings and will likely make the Play-In Tournament next month for the second straight season.

Utah is on the outside looking in on the playoff race in the Western Conference. Utah has lost eight of its last 10 games, while the Jazz are five games behind the Golden State Warriors in the final play-in position in the West.

Utah defeated Washington 127-115 on Monday to return home from 0-3 and become a five-point favorite. Jazz’s leading scorer, Lauri Markkanen, did not take the field, but Jordan Clarkson created a big spark off the bench with 38 points.

In their first match at the United Center in November this season, the Bulls defeated the Jazz 130-113 and were four-point favorites at home. The two teams combined to hit 34 three-pointers and the Over 223 score was never in doubt.

Bulls vs. Jazz selection

Chicago hasn’t won since the end of January, posting a 1-7 mark in this situation. Granted, the lone victory in this race came last month in Memphis as the away favorite.

The Jazz have been the underdogs on the home court this season, posting a 6-3 record both directly and against the spread in their last nine opportunities.

Utah has beaten the likes of Denver, Dallas, Miami and New York as the home dog, but will be without Markkanen once again tonight.

Although Chicago has had trouble winning consecutive games lately, it’s hard to support the Jazz without their leading scorer and knowing how much they’ve struggled over the past month.

Let’s let the Bulls leave the short trick on the road.

To choose: Bulls -4 (-106 FanDuel)
