No one was injured when the bullet entered the back of the house in Yorkville.

Yorkville police were seeking information Monday night after a bullet entered the back of a home in the 300 block of Drayton Court in the city, authorities said.

According to a press release from the Yorkville Police Department, the home was occupied, but no one was injured in the shooting, which occurred around 8 p.m.

Police do not believe this was a targeted incident, officials said.

Police collected evidence at the scene and interviewed residents, according to the statement.

Police say upon further investigation, witnesses reported hearing what they believed to be a gun firing a single shot.

According to the police statement, the investigation into the shooting continues. Anyone with information or video footage of the incident is asked to call the Yorkville Police Department at 630-553-4340.
