A semi-truck driver was ejected from his vehicle and died after crashing into a wall on Interstate 294 near Northbrook early Tuesday, according to Illinois State Police.
According to ISP, the crash occurred near mile marker 52.5 on northbound I-294.
The driver’s identity has not yet been released by authorities.
The accident occurred at 02.23 in the morning. Police said the victim was driving a FedEx double trailer truck and the truck went off the road for an unknown reason.
It was determined that the driver who was removed from the truck was taken to the hospital and died there. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
