Tuition will be slightly increased at Waubonsee Community College

The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees has approved a tuition increase of just over 2% starting in the fall 2024 semester, officials said.

The college’s in-district and online tuition will increase from $135 to $138 per credit hour, according to a press release from Waubonsee.

Student fees will remain the same at $8 per credit hour, officials said.

Even with the planned increase, Waubonsee officials said the college’s total tuition and fee rate of $146 per credit hour would remain below the $157 average at the state’s 39 colleges, according to the release.

“Having an affordable and competitive tuition helps our local students afford higher education while also allowing the college to continue to improve its programs and services,” Waubonsee Community College Vice President of Finance and Administration Doug Minter said in the release.
