Carpentersville teacher, St. Charles charged after allegedly making ‘inappropriate comment’ to child at recreation center – Chicago Tribune

Law enforcement officials in St. A Carpentersville Middle School teacher/wrestling coach who allegedly made an “inappropriate comment” to a child in the locker room at Norris Recreation Center in St. Charles has been arrested on felony charges, police said.

Kevin D. Lee, 24, of the 500 block of Waterford Lane, South Elgin, is being held in the Kane County jail following the Feb. 26 incident in which he is charged with sexual abuse of a child, grooming and theft. Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and St. A press release from the Charles Police Department said:

According to the statement, Lee was at the center “without authorization” but no other details were given. It is unknown whether he knew the child before the incident or why the theft accusation was made.

Lee is being held in the Kane County jail while his case is ongoing, as required by state law, the statement said. His next hearing will be held on March 20.
