Clark’s record-setting performance against Michigan wasn’t the only women’s basketball action White caught over the weekend. She also watched Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu. They will face each other in a 3-point contest on Saturday.It is the first event where WNBA and NBA players face off during NBA All-Star weekend.
Curry won the contest with 29 points, but Ionescu followed closely with 26 points, matching Damian Lillard’s total of points tallied to win the NBA’s 3-point contest this year.
“It was a great thing,” White said. “Obviously, I think they need to continue that next year and try to improve on that. (Ionescu’s) super talented. He can shoot off the ball. It was inspiring for him to step up and get first against the best shooter ever at that moment and set the tone that way.” “
