ST. LOUIS — Connor Hickman scored 20 points to lead third-seeded Bradley past 11th-seeded UIC 74-47 in the Missouri Valley Conference quarterfinals on Friday night.
The Braves (22-10) will face second-seeded Drake in the second of two semifinals on Saturday.
Darius Hannah shot 5/9 from the field with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Demarion Burch added 10 points.
Nathan Ojukwu scored 10 points to lead the Flames (12-21). Toby Okani added nine points and three steals.
Bradley took the lead with 13 minutes, 31 seconds left in the first half and did not relinquish it. The Braves pulled away with a 16-1 run in the second half to extend their two-point lead to 17. As they trailed UIC by 25 points, Hickman broke the team record with 14 points in the second half.
Drake 79, Evansville 58
Tucker DeVries played with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the win of the second-place Bulldogs. Atin Wright finished the game with 12 points and Kyron Gibson with 10 points for Drake (25-6).
Yacine Toumi played with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals for the Purple Aces, who suffered their seventh consecutive defeat (16-16).
Northern Iowa 67, Belmont 62
Tytan Anderson had 19 points, 19 rebounds and three steals as the fourth-seeded Panthers (20-13) advanced to top-seeded Indiana State in the semifinals on Saturday.
Jacob Hutson added 14 points and Nate Heise added 13 points for UNI.
For Bruins, Ja’Kobi Gillespie scored 17 points (19-12), Malik Dia scored 14 and Cade Tyson scored 11 points.
Indiana State 75, Missouri State 59
Ryan Conwell scored 20 points, Robbie Avila scored 14 points, and the Sycamores (27-5), who were in the first place in the rankings, advanced to the semifinals of the MVC Tournament.
Donovan Clay scored 18 points and NJ Benson had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks for the Bears (17-16).
