First this fall, another round of Covid-19 shut down Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show.” Now the show has been sidelined again as the host gets rid of the explosive addition.

Colbert had three busy appearances planned, including Jennifer Garner, Baz Luhrmann, Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammer; The return of former bandleader Jon Batiste and Barbra Streisand would take “The Colbert Questionert.”

In mid-October, Colbert contracted COVID-19 and was forced to cancel a week’s worth of shows, although he hosted from his home as he had done throughout the pandemic.
