‘The Kite Runner’ and Bob Dylan

Broadway, “Girl From the North Country,” “The Kite Runner,” and “Mrs. Doubtfire” join the recently announced world premiere of “Death Becomes Her,” Wednesday, in downtown Chicago. Existing subscribers can now renew at 312-977-1717 and www.broadwayinchicago.com.

“Girl from the North Country” (February 13-25, 2024, CIBC Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St.): Written and directed by Conor McPherson and orchestrated by Simon Hale, this 2020 musical is set and re-imagined in 1934 in Duluth, Minnesota. Bob Dylan has songs like “Forever Young”, “All Along the Watchtower” and “Like a Rolling Stone”.

“Miss. Fire of Doubt” (February 27 – March 10, 2024, Nederlander Theatre, 24 W. Randolph St.): Broadway co-star Rob McClure will reprise his performance as an unemployed actor on a national tour directed by Jerry Zaks.

“Peter Pan” (March 26 – April 7, 2024 at Nederlander Theatre): A new adaptation by playwright Larissa FastHorse, directed by Lonny Price, choreographed by Lorin Latarro, is currently touring.

“Oh mother!” (April 30 – May 19, 2024 at the Nederlander Theatre): Here they go again. The long-running musical about a mother and daughter is told through ABBA’s jukebox hits.

“Death Becomes Him” (April 30 – June 2, 2024, Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St.): A just announced Pre-Broadway world premiere of a musical based on the 1992 movie.

“The Kite Runner” (June 11-23, 2024 at the CIBC Theatre): The 2022 Broadway play is adapted by Matthew Spangler from Khaled Hosseini’s novel set in divided Afghanistan.

Next spring will also feature the following off-season games:

“Message in a bottle” (February 28 – March 3, 2024 at Cadillac Palace Theatre): A dance theater production by Sadler’s Wells artist Kate Prince adapted to Sting’s music; Under “Every Breath You Take”, “Roxanne” and “Fields.”

“Beautiful Woman: The Musical” (March 12-17, 2024, at the CIBC Theatre): The musical, adapted from the film with original music by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, premiered in Chicago. It is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell.

“On your feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan” (March 19-24, 2024, at CIBC Theatre): The story and music of the husband-and-wife music team with songs like “Rhythm is Gonna Get You”, “Conga” and “Get On Your Feet”. Another musical, first seen in Chicago, made its debut in 2015.
