Chicago police sent out a community alert Thursday warning businesses about a duo who used force to rob cigarette and cash stores on the Northwest Side.
Police said the duo had committed strong-armed robberies in recent days to escape with cigarettes and cash. The duo fled on foot after the robbery.
On Feb. 13, the duo robbed a business in the 3500 block of North Pulaski Road shortly before 5:30 p.m. The two went to a store in the 3500 block of North Cicero Boulevard on Feb. 15 shortly after 11:30 p.m. On Feb. 16, the robbers struck again shortly before 12:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of West Belmont Avenue. The last reported strong-arm robbery occurred at a store in the 5000 block of West Lawrence Avenue on Feb. 19 around 10:15 p.m., police said.
It was stated that one of the robbers was a white man aged 20-25. He stands approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs between 160 and 180 lbs. The other robber was described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing between 210 and 230 pounds.
Anyone who knows the identities of the robbers should contact the police.
