Aurora’s ever-expanding Paramount Theater has been awarded the rights to a likely best-selling musical this fall: Disney’s stage version of “Frozen,” famous for its soundtrack alone, including “Let it Go,” the bane of its minivan parent. .”
The anticipated strength of this title has been enough for Paramount to create its longest musical yet this fall: from October 30 to January 19, 2025.
Also on the roster for the 2024-25 season in downtown Aurora: the first local production of Sara Bareilles’ “Waitress” (Feb. 12 – March 30, 2025) and a revival of “The Full Monty” (August) next summer. 21-October 6) and “Cats” next spring (April 30-June 15, 2025).
Paramount also says it will open three shows at the smaller Copley Theater next season: “Peter and the Starcatcher (July 24 – Sept. 1) “An Act of God” (Oct. 2 – Nov. 10) and “The 25th Annual Putnam” County Spelling Bee ” (March 12-April 27, 2025).
Finally, Paramount plans to open a third theater space this summer with a production of “Million Dollar Four.” Known as the Stolp Island Theatre, it will be a 98-seat black box theater designed for “immersive theater experiences.” Stolp Island Theater is currently under construction at 5 E. Downer Place in downtown Aurora.
