NEW YORK — Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is coming to movie theaters.
Swift announced on Thursday that the concert film “Taylor Swift – The Eras Tour” will hit North American theaters on October 13. Theater chain AMC, which has been waiting for a lot of demand from Swift fans, said that the movie will be screened at least four times a day on Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at all US locations.
Swift said on her social media channels, “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, exciting experience of my life so far, and I’m delighted to say it’s coming to the big screen soon.”
Prices will be higher than normal movie tickets. The adult ticket will cost $19.89 (“1989 (Taylor’s Version)” will be released soon) and the child ticket will cost $13.13 (apparently a nod to his favorite trick). Pre-sales started on Thursday.
As usual, AMC is also the distributor of the film. (“Eras Tour” will also be playing at other chains.) In anticipation of the announcement, AMC said it upgraded its website to meet more than five times the biggest ticket-buying rush it had ever experienced.
